A One-Day Retreat
Apply here!
Facilitated by Philip Shano, SJ
This one-day retreat will use the Ignatian guidelines on the taking of food. These rules are included in Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises and are helpful in a discerned approach to eating, drinking, viewing our screens, and all the other appetites that consume us. We will look at the way these 16th century guidelines continue to make sense, especially for our culture and time.
The day will include presentations, prayer exercises, time for personal reflection, celebration of the Eucharist, interaction with other participants, and Loyola House’s hospitality. As always, participants can make use of the beautiful, vast grounds of IJC in the beauty of early fall. The day includes a delicious, wholesome lunch prepared by the renowned Loyola House kitchen.
Philip Shano has been a Jesuit for over 45 years and recently returned to serve at Loyola House, having previously been on the team in the 1990s. Most of his diverse Jesuit ministry has involved retreat work, education, formation and leadership – all rooted in the dynamics of Ignatian spirituality.
