Focus On Our Defenses
Apply here!
As we explore the Enneagram, it is helpful to add to our understanding of our type. While knowing our type helps us see our automatic patterns of response, there are other topics that can help us see some even deeper dynamics. One is the Defense System. Each type has a way it defends itself from difficult self-awareness. And, as a compliment, each type creates an idealized version of themselves to present to the world. All in the service of function and feeling okay.
It is so helpful to understand how we do this and why. Then, we can slow down our reliance on these responses, helping us stay more open and present in times of stress – helping us in turn be more of the gift we can be in our lives.
Participants will have a resource booklet and 3 hours of videos to watch before attending. During the day, we will spend time going more deeply through teaching and conversation and, more importantly, through shared self-reflection.
