Facilitated by Raj Vijayakumar, SJ
Join us for this online opportunity to grow in your relationship to God through Ignatian Spirituality. Beginning in January, participants will meet once a week online on Thursday Evenings for an extended daily life retreat in the Spiritual Exercises. Participants will come to deepen their own spiritual lives as they learn about the fundamentals of Ignatian spirituality such as: discernment, the examen, indifference, and decision making. Our 1-hour evening together will include a presentation, group faith sharing, and some facilitated group prayer. If getting away for the full spiritual exercises is difficult or costly, this retreat in daily life could be perfect for you.
An orientation session will take place on January 16 2025 from 7-8pm EST. If you would like further information regarding this retreat you may contact Raj Vijayakumar SJ at rvijayakumar@ignatiusguelph.ca
Please bring to our online sessions:
- Bible and a Journal.
- Also be sure to find a quiet private space for online meetings
Note that facilitated group faith sharing will take the place of private spiritual direction. Some experience with Ignatian prayer will be helpful during this experience, but not necessary. Also, this retreat assumes the retreatant will be able to commit to the 30 – 45 mins of daily personal prayer, not including journaling and a 10-minute examen at the end of the evening. Hence, retreatants are invited to set aside 1 hour in total every day for the exercises.
Free will offerings for this program are appreciated and received for sustaining the works at the IJC.
Maximum of 9 spaces are available for interested participants. Timeline would January 16 to July 17 2025.
