It’s orchard planning and pruning time and we need your help!
The beloved orchard at Ignatius is transitioning into a collectively-run community orchard, and you’re invited to join in planning the 2022 season. This is a chance for any community member to learn skills in fruit horticulture and contribute to a community legacy.
We will spend the morning planning out the seasonal tasks and how the orchard collective will work together. After lunch we’ll spend some quality time pruning the trees. You are welcome to come for the whole event or either the planning or pruning session.
- 10 am – 12 noon – Discussion of orchard tasks, calendar of the year, how we’ll work together
- 12 noon – Lunch break (bring your own); coffee/tea provided
- 1-3pm – Orchard pruning

Volunteers must follow COVID-19 protocols, including wearing a mask and adhering to 2m distancing. Participants must register to join the orchard event.
