The Spiritual Exercises are a compilation of meditations, prayers, and contemplative practices developed by St. Ignatius Loyola to help people deepen their relationship with God. This retreat will feature a group experience=–five retreatants will meet once weekly on Zoom for two hours . During the meeting, there will be silent prayer, sharing of one’s prayer from the previous week, individual direction given in the context of the group, teaching about Ignatian spirituality and prayer, and an orientation for the coming week’s prayer. Six individual direction sessions will be given, one after the introductory days, one towards the end of each “week” of the Exercises and one about 6 weeks after the weekly sessions end.
Retreatants commit to attending the weekly Zoom meetings, keeping a notebook into which they put the papers given out each week, and about 45-60 minutes of prayer each day, and writing in a prayer journal.
Madeleine Gregg, fcJ, currently serves as a spiritual director at Loyola House, focusing on retreats and evening programs. She values Ignatian spirituality and delights in observing how God opens people to greater freedom, greater joy, and a greater capacity for life through Ignatian retreats. Madeleine is always ready to respond to new initiatives with enthusiasm and joy!
Zoom meetings take place every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:30pm from September 17, 2025 to May 20, 2026. Please note that prospective retreatants will meet with Sr. Madeleine before the retreat begins to be sure they are ready for this experience. Participants will be limited to 5 people.
