We realize you may be booking your retreat many months in advance and that it may be challenging to make a financial commitment at this time. However, we may require a deposit to secure your reservation due to the high demand for retreats and to discourage last-minute cancellations. Of course, we understand situations may arise where you will be forced to change or cancel your reservation. In this case, please contact us as soon as possible at registration@ignatiusguelph.ca or at 519 824 1250 ext 266.
The terms and deadlines prescribed by Ignatius Jesuit Centre for canceling or modifying your reservation are as follows:
Up to 30 days before the retreat start date
- Transfer of reservation and deposit to another retreat is possible within 6 months of original booking date. Please note that retreats may not be transferred more than once.
- Cancellation or modification is possible. Deposit is refundable minus a $75 administration fee.
Between 29 days and retreat start date
- Full payment will be deducted from the credit card number on file.
- Retreat is non-cancellable, non-refundable, and non-transferable.
Please understand such changes and cancellations lead to additional expenses for IJC and a lost opportunity for others to participate in a retreat.

Q. What happens if I need to change my retreat reservation within 30 days of the retreat?
We will do our best to book you into another retreat within six (6) months of your original reservation dates. Your deposit would then be transferred. If you would like to rebook, please review the retreats currently available here then contact us at registration@ignatiusguelph.ca or at 519 824 1250 ext 266 to see what we can arrange for you.
Q. If there are no other retreat dates that suit my schedule, may I cancel my reservation and get a refund?
If the retreat date is 30 or more days away, you may cancel your reservation and your deposit would be refunded minus a $75 administration fee. If the retreat date is less than 30 days away and there is no retreat within 6 months that will suit your schedule, you’re welcome to donate your payment to IJC or add it to our bursary fund, as it is non-refundable and non-transferrable. All donations are eligible for a tax receipt.
Q. I can no longer afford the full cost of the retreat I booked, but I would still like to attend. Is there anything you can do?
IJC is committed to providing high quality retreats to everyone, no matter their financial situation. If you’re experiencing difficulties, we would be pleased to provide you with a subsidy so you can still attend the retreat. Please contact us at registration@ignatiusguelph.ca or at 519 824 1250 ext 266 so we can discuss your situation.
Q. If I am on a waiting list for a retreat, do I still need to make a deposit?
No. A deposit would only be taken once a spot becomes available for the retreat you’re interested in booking if it is required. When the retreat is available, we would send you a registration confirmation and link by email to make your deposit or payment in full.
