  • Jesuits, First Nations Participate in Reconciliation Canoe Trip

    This past summer, the Canadian Canoe Pilgrimage took place, bringing together different cultures that form the fabric of Canada today. It provided an experience of encounter that encouraged dialogue, reconciliation and friendship, and immersed in the Calls-to-Action outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. CBC’s The National reported on this venture on September 4, 2017…watch it here. Dan Leckman, SJ, one of the Jesuits who works here at Loyola House as a spiritual director, participated in the Canoe Pilgrimage.  He has many stories to tell and learned much about himself; a worthwhile experience.


  • Guelph Walking Pilgrimage 2017

    Paul Boreham, wrote an article titled “Guelph Walking Pilgrimage: A Lesson in Sharing, Kindness” about his experiences on this year’s walk from Guelph to Midland, Ontario.  The article includes some great pictures as well!  Read it here… you may want to sign up for next year’s venture!


  • Volunteer efforts help bring brook trout back to Guelph area creek

    The Marden Creek restoration project has been a work in progress for a little over 10 years, and volunteers are now beginning to see strong evidence that their efforts are having a positive impact. “The trout have returned to the lower part of the creek for the first time in 180 years,” said Martin Tamlyn, of the Ignatius Jesuit Centre’s Old-Growth Forest Project.
