A season-long, land-based learning experience to discover a different way of being with the earth.
Spend a season reconnecting with the land, learning how food grows, and taking part in something shared from start to finish.
This nine session, half-day program follows the full cycle of a Three Sisters garden. The Three Sisters are three crops grown together in a traditional Indigenous intercropping system, where each plant supports the others: corn provides structure, beans enrich the soil, and squash protects and nourishes the ground. Together, they offer a living example of reciprocity—relationships of mutual care, responsibility, and shared flourishing. We will plant, tend, and harvest together as we learn about interwoven teachings from the process of growing.
The program is guided collaboratively by Hannah Wellings (Program Manager, Wisahkotewinowak), Lisa Conroy (Farm Educator, Ignatius Jesuit Centre), and Nicole De Francesco (Catholic Educator). Each brings a different lens to the work, shaping an experience that moves between practice, reflection, and relationship.
