Ignatius Jesuit Centre offers a suite of courses and workshops that bring together ecological learning, spiritual reflection, and community engagement. These offerings form part of the emerging Centre for Integral Ecology, a long-term initiative to support people seeking deeper relationships between land, community, and spiritual life.

The Great Family of Earth

This children’s program invites youth to participate in a morning of outdoor activities that build connection with their own creative and contemplative nature, the beauty of creation, and with other children.

Laudato Si’ in a Hurry

This day program offers a focused and accessible introduction to Laudato Si’, Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for our common home. Led by Fr. Dirk Dunfee, SJ, the session is designed for parishes, classrooms, and community groups looking for a clear entry point into the document and its broader vision.

Reciprocity in Practice — A Season with the Three Sisters

A season-long, land-based learning experience to discover a different way of being with the earth. Spend a season reconnecting with the land, learning how food grows, and taking part in something shared from start to finish.

Climate Crisis Café

Climate change can stir feelings of grief, uncertainty, and anxiety, but these experiences need not be faced alone. Join the Climate Crisis Café, a series that brings together guided conversation, contemplative practice, creative expression, and time on the land to help cultivate resilience, hope, and meaningful connection.

The Gift of Creation: An Ecological Ignatian Prayer Journey in Daily Life

A five-week guided prayer journey rooted in Ignatian spirituality and integral ecology, inviting participants to encounter God through creation and deepen their relationship with the Creator through prayer, reflection, and community.

Looking Ahead

Additional courses and workshops are currently in development. These future offerings will integrate ecological science, regenerative land stewardship, Catholic social teaching, Indigenous insights, and Ignatian spirituality. Programs will invite participants not only to learn, but to reflect, practice, and apply what they discover in their own communities.

Over time, the Centre for Integral Ecology will offer programs exploring themes such as:

  • Ecological literacy and integral ecology as a framework for action
  • Regenerative and agroecological approaches to land stewardship
  • Water, soil, and biodiversity as foundations of community wellbeing
  • Spirituality and ecology in conversation with Ignatian practice
  • Care for our common home as a moral and relational call
  • Community-based ecological leadership and collaborative problem-solving

Programs will be offered in a variety of formats, including online sessions, seasonal workshops, short courses, and land-based learning experiences drawing on the forests, farm, and waterways of Ignatius Jesuit Centre.
