Farm Education

Hands-on learning in regenerative and agroecological farming.

Ignatius Farm has been a place of learning for more than three decades, offering training that connects people to the land and to ecological food production. Rooted in a commitment to care for our common home, these programs support emerging farmers, growers, and community members building skills in regenerative farming, agroecology, and land stewardship.

Today, Ignatius Farm offers flexible, practical learning pathways shaped by a shared set of principles: regenerative practices that restore soil, biodiversity, and water systems; agroecological approaches that link food production with community wellbeing; hands-on learning grounded in the realities of the land; and a spirit of reflection, responsibility, and care.

Whether you are starting out, developing your skills, or simply curious, there are pathways here to support your growth.

The Introduction to Ecological Vegetable Growing Webinar Series, offered in partnership with the EFAO, is a multi-session online program designed for new and aspiring growers. Delivered over a series of events, it provides a practical foundation in ecological vegetable production, covering everything from soil health and crop planning to pest and disease management, irrigation, and post-harvest handling. The series combines technical instruction with ecological principles, including agroecology and traditional ecological knowledge, and features experienced farmers and practitioners. Sessions are recorded for flexible participation, making it accessible to those exploring home gardening, community growing, or small-scale market farming.

Registration for this series will open again in Fall 2026.

The Volunteer Agroecology Internship at Ignatius Farm is a hands-on, season-long learning opportunity for those looking to deepen their understanding of ecological farming in a working farm setting. Interns participate in the day-to-day rhythms of the farm—seeding, planting, harvesting, and land care—while building practical skills in soil health, crop production, and regenerative practices. The program emphasizes learning through doing, supported by guidance from farm staff and space for reflection on the broader principles of agroecology, community food systems, and care for the land. It is well suited for those exploring farming more seriously or seeking grounded, applied experience.

We are now accepting applications for this internship program.
