Looking Ahead Together: Upcoming Town Hall at IJC

What does it mean to be connected to place? For those who have spent time at IJC, the connection goes deeper than simply an appreciation for the landscape. Even as the mission at Ignatius Jesuit Centre takes new shape, it’s clear that this place continues to hold a special significance. We’ve heard from many community members about how meaningful this space is to them, and now we are tasked with reimagining how it can continue to serve the community into the future.
We know we’re not alone in this work. Through the stories, memories, and hopes shared by the community, we’re beginning to see how the new apostolate will take shape here at IJC. We’re grateful to all who have reached out in the past few weeks to share their insights and experiences.
As mentioned, we invite all who are interested in learning more about the reasons behind this transition—and our plans moving forward—to attend a Town Hall meeting with Kevin Kelly, SJ from the Jesuits of Canada. Here are the details:
Town Hall Meetings
Monday, June 9 at 7 PM – ONLINE ONLY
Tuesday, June 10 at 7 PM – IN PERSON at Loyola House
To attend, please register online here:
Town Hall Registration
The online meeting will be held via Zoom, and the link will be emailed to everyone who registers for that meeting. Space is limited for the in-person meeting, so registration is required.
We recognize that this transition is difficult for many in our community. We ask that all who attend come with openness and respect for what may be a challenging conversation. Our goal is to offer insight into the decisions behind this transition and to respond to your questions, though time constraints may prevent us from addressing each one individually. We also encourage the sharing of ideas that look forward—toward growth and possibility—rather than holding on or resisting this necessary transition.
This time of uncertainty is not easy, and we are deeply grateful for your grace and steadiness as we navigate this path together.
With gratitude,
The IJC Team
