A One-Day Retreat
Apply here!
This one-day retreat helps participants to grow in appreciation for the gift of the imagination in personal prayer. The guiding principle will be the Ignatian notion of the application of the senses as an integral element of prayer using the active imagination. In addition to presentations, prayer exercises, time for personal reflection, celebration of the Eucharist, interaction with other participants, and Loyola House’s hospitality, the day will include an appreciation of the senses and guided experiences of prayer using the imagination. If the conditions are suitable, exercises will be offered for the outdoors, enjoying the beautiful, vast grounds of IJC in full stimulation of spring. The retreat includes a delicious, wholesome lunch prepared by the renowned Loyola House kitchen.
Philip Shano has been a Jesuit for over 45 years and recently returned to serve at Loyola House, having previously been on the team in the 1990s. Most of his diverse Jesuit ministry has involved retreat work, education, formation and leadership – all rooted in the dynamics of Ignatian spirituality.
