Welcome to Loyola House – Retreats & Ignatian Training!
HALLELUJAH……we’re back!
We opened Loyola House to on-site retreats and programs on April 9, welcoming those of you returning to your beloved retreat house and those who are new to us. There have been lots of changes…..
We added 20 ensuites to the retreat wing, which reduced the accommodation capacity from 47 to 37 rooms. We’re guessing retreats will likely fill up quickly.
What else is new? We’ve got new beds, replaced the countertops in each bedroom, removed the carpet and added new flooring and the entire retreat wing has been freshly painted. The shared washrooms have undergone some lovely renovations as well.
We added hot and cold cases in the dining room as we no longer are doing self-serve buffet meals – rest assured though, that the food is just as wonderful as you remember.
In terms of changes due to the pandemic – we thank everyone for wearing their masks and trying to ensure that a safe distance is maintained in all the common rooms. We opted to not have a vaccine mandate. Capacity limits in common areas have been slightly reduced to accommodate comfortable distancing for all. We fine-tuned the new database, ready to accept applications to our retreats and training programs. Check out our offerings here – especially some of the new retreats, such as the new 8-day retreat in May ‘Listening to Indigenous Voices’ facilitated by Sasha Sky & Dave Skene from White Owl Native Ancestry Association and Victoria Blanco, Mark Hathaway, & Trevor Scott, SJ from the Jesuit Forum.
