“I have travelled a long way on my spiritual path since my first 8-day directed silent retreat at Loyola House in August, 2004. I’ve journeyed there for 7 additional 8-day silent retreats. Each experience has been unique yet has had elements of deep prayer, creativity and reconnection. I’ve been there in all four seasons, over Easter, on Earth Day and on my birthday. I met with the spiritual director I had on my first retreat for 15 years and after her retirement, I’ve continued with a new director. The direction aspect is vital to the retreat experience and in everyday life.
Loyola House is a sacred space for me. It is a place that allows me to slow down, settle in, reflect, be still and connect with God, meet with God and just listen. Each time I return home, my husband notices how peaceful I am.
Loyola House has been an integral part of my transformation as a Christian and as a spiritual person. My husband, Jim D. and I are honoured to be able to leave a legacy donation to this beautiful place so that many, many more people can experience this sacredness and the transformation the Centre facilitates.”
